Hello friends,

Kelly is doing well. He seems to be handling the treatment okay. He is obviously tired and feels yucky (my word, not his description) a lot of the time. He has told me that it is his goal to not get grumpy as he struggles feeling sick.

He has had his first complication already. (this has been a discouragement for us both) After his spinal injection of chemo this last Friday, he developed a headache that floored him. He spent about four and a half days in bed because being upright worsened the headache. The headache was due to some spinal fluid leaking out into the injection site and when the spinal fluid is off, even a tiny bit, headaches occur.

We made two trips to the E.R. this week. The first trip Kelly was treated with an IV bag of caffeine. We asked the attending doctor how that works and he said, "no one really knows" Well, it did work and then Kelly was wired on caffeine so he started to walk home from the hospital rather then wait for me to come get him. Mind you, it is June, in Fresno, hot, smoked filled air and he has just left the E.R.. Can you say, crazy, caffeine driven man? When I picked him up he was more than half way home.

Well, the caffeine worked for several hours but the headache came back that evening. We went back to the E.R. and were sent home after no anesthesiologists were available. So... we went back this morning to the out-patient area and Kelly was treated with a blood patch and released after several hours. He came home, rested, ate, got dressed and off he went to get his radiation treatment, do a hospital visit and to work!

I don't know weather to strangle him or just appreciate and admire him all the more. He is an amazing man and I am such a blessed woman.

Thank you for your prayers sounds redundant but believe me that knowing you all are praying is one of the most comforting things to us right now. We feel Jesus loving us as He moves in the hearts of His people to pray for us. So, we are truly thankful.
Sincerely, Gabriela

Dear Kelly and Gabriella - You are such warriors!! We shall continue to pray fervently for you and your family. We trust the kids can make it to Forest Home or a satisfactory substitute. Thank you so much for the updates. We look forward to reading them because your Christ centered strength is so evident.

You continue to be in my prayers daily - praising God for the healing work he already performed with the mucor and trusing Him to give you both strength, courage, & peace as you walk this difficult road toward healing. Thanks for your sharing your heart with your blog - it is inspiring to hear how you are both trusting God so completely with this difficult journey. Isaiah 33:6 - "He will be the sure foundation for your times, a rich store of salvation and wisdom and knowledge: the fear of the Lord is the key to this treasure." Keep trusting Jesus as your sure foundation in this time.
Love in Christ,

Kelly, you are to be admired!

Would like to once again suggest that you contact the Be In Health Research Department at beinhealth.com and ask them for the spiritual roots of your specific illnesses. There is a better way!!! Though they would never tell you to stop chemo, there are things you can speak to in your body for healing. What can it hurt at this point in time? Going to God for healing... the Word promises that those who are His will do signs and wonders and healing is one of them. You are a crisis case, they even might talk with you over the phone. I don't know. How is it that we become more dependent upon medications than allowing God's touch? We ask God to heal, then run off to the doctor's. A mixed breed we are.

God to Charles Capps' website. He has several books that are great. "God's Creative Power for Healing" is one. "The Tongue, A Creative Force". He has lots and lots of books that I wish I had known about long before now in my life. My struggle would be a different one. Please Kelly. You've been seeking God to speak to you in this matter...

Pastor Wright with the Be In Health group has laid hands on people and they've gotten well. He even brought someone back to life. I've seen people who have had their thyroids restored after they were surgically removed. There is help and hope for you.
