Doctors comments

Good new, you made it through the surgery well in spite of the low blood counts. Bad news, it is a fungus and it is the worst kind. Good news, it is treatable and the prognosis is positive. Bad news, it will be a long hospital stay, minimum one week or more. There will also be more sinus surgeries, at least two, to clean out area. There is also concern that the pneumonia is back and that the fungus might have made it's way into the right lung which will require more treatment. Chemo is suspended until the fungus clears.
Good news,
God is good.
He is faithful.
His strength is perfected in our weaknesses.
His grace is sufficient.
His love is perfect.
His is trustworthy and beautiful!

Prayer requests? Many needs, don't know where to begin. Please pray that the whole family will know God's presence and continue to walk with thankfulness to God for His goodness and faithfulness. Please pray for all the physical needs Kelly has, (The pain is quite severe) and for his doctors to have wisdom. Please pray for the kids, they will not get to see Kelly for a while and I will be away from them more then usual. Please pray I will have stamina and stay healthy.
With much thankfulness for your love and prayers, Gabriela

Kelly & Gabriela,

We have just checked this update as we have been down in Mexico building loft houses. We have been praying for Kelly this weekend as well as continuing to have our church family pray. We love you & this weekend was a constant reminder that God is so faithful and hears our needs no matter what they are, or whether they are large or small. May He bless you and we continue to pray that He heals Kelly and for the fungus to clear and for the chemo to resume with no setbacks. Please call if you need anything and know that we love you all so very much.

Hey Rosenthals - just found the blog this weekend and read the whole thing from the beginning - what a tough journey! We've been praying for you ever since we first heard about Kelly's diagnosis - now we know more specifically what to pray for. Our heart and prayers go out to you all, especially in this new difficult twist.

God be with you,

-Dan, Katie and Rachel (age 1) Rogstad

Dear Kelly and Gabriella - We are so glad that we can access your blog and find out what is happening. We are sorry to hear about the sinus complication and extended stay in the hospital. You and your children are on our hearts and in our prayers. May the Lord use your journey as an example of love, strength, faithfulness and support to others that are on the same road.

We love you.

I saw you at church yesterday and recognized a peace about you that only our Savior can provide. I pray that He continues to shine through you when you are not feeling especially shiny :0) Be strong & Be hopeful - You are an amazing testimony to how God works when it gets unbearable. Much love to you and your family. Tell Kelly- thanks for last week's sermon. Jack & I are so blessed by the whole community group"thing" - and I know there is more to come!

I will be praying for everything to go well for Kelly. I also wanted to let you know I have raised over $1,000 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in the marathon fundraising I am currently working on! God is really touching the hearts of those around me. I have shared your story and wonderful people have responded! I will continue to work hard for your family and others affected by this terrible disease.
God Bless,
Kristen Leonard

Kelly and family...I have been praying...dean and I were in Vancouver and I was woken up at 2:30 this morning to pray...My heart just aches for all of you because I know how difficult it is right now but I again thought about how faithful My Lord is and He is right with you on this journey and promises you Victory no matter what...but we are human and sometimes we just get weary...Know I am standing in prayer and Dean and I are here in whatever capacity you need us...please let us know...Love you Claudia

Amen
